Arachnophobia
The table was clear a moment ago. When Lexi looked up from her reading and saw her nemesis, she didn’t hesitate.
“Die! Die! Die!” Lexi repeatedly brought the rolled magazine down on the dark smear that had once been a spider.
The commotion drew Tara to the living room. “Another one?”
“I think I got him.” Lexi slumped back on the couch, panting. The bubbling in her belly faded. She lifted up her tank top; she was visibly bloated but her quick reaction had limited the damage.
Tara sat down next to her and placed a hand Lexi’s exposed stomach.
“Everything alright?“

Voodoo Balloon
It was already the end of the second day into the 5th annual National Convention of the Sciences. The best and the brightest furs from labs all over the country had come together in to a single college campus to present and discuss their research, inventions, theories, and formulas in every field of science imaginable—and maybe some that even one's imagination could no possibly fathom. With the day's activities over, for the most part, and the presentation hall closed for the night, most of the scientists had retired to the campus café to lean back, grab a bite to eat, and sit with their colleges to further share the knowledge they had gained

Rachel's Balloon
Rachel Hershley was dressed in her usual black top, sitting on a bench on a quiet downtown street quiet early in the morning. Even as a few more people came and went in both direction, she had her eyes closed and head tilted towards the sun, completely zoned out, ignoring the world around her. After a nice period of serenity, her moment of calm was interrupted by the sudden burst of people flocking the streets. Rachel snapped out of it, quite angered by the spontaneous disturbance. Everyone was buying balloons, and Rachel tried to ignore the bustling zone back into her own world. This was when she was approached. "Hey, do you want a balloon?" Rachel turned her head down and regarded her approacher with a grimace. It was a young blonde woman named Jeane, dressed in rather colourful attire, and she was holding four balloons, all red. "Do I want
I can't believe it's been a full year since my last story upload. Hopefully this will make up for it. >>;
I actually started writing this story back in 2010, before getting stymied and setting it aside. It wasn't until early spring of this year that I was finally able to muster the courage I needed to go back and finish it. In the end, I'm glad I did. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to for all the encouragement and support he gave me while I was working on this piece. Without his input and advice, this story would still be sitting half-finished in some dusty corner of my computer's hard drive.
As always, comments and (constructive) critiques are very much appreciated!
